Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh

Introduction

The Right to Information Act, 2005 represents one of the most significant legislative achievements for democratic accountability in India. It places every citizen in the position of an auditor of government functioning. I have embraced RTI not merely as a legal tool but as a civic duty.

With over 100 RTI applications filed across various Haryana government departments, my RTI work aims to bring transparency to areas where government functioning has traditionally remained opaque. From questioning irregular recruitments to examining expenditure patterns, each application is a step toward accountable governance.

Key Focus Areas of RTI Work

Statement

RTI activism is not about confrontation with the government — it is about collaboration with democracy. Every piece of information obtained through RTI strengthens the citizen’s ability to participate meaningfully in governance. My RTI work has led to corrective actions in multiple departments, exposed irregularities in recruitment processes, and ensured that public funds are spent as intended.
